Observations

Good GMAT score for UC Berkley e-GMAT

  • Maximum interview invites as well as admissions can be witnessed for a GMAT Score range of 710 to 750
  • For all scores above 710, the conversion rate (admission to interview rate) is 50% or more, with the score of 760 being an exception
  • For a score of 760, only 1 out 6 interviewees was finally admitted- this could be either because the other applicants selected other B-schools or because some of them did not perform well on other parameters of the application process
  • The highest invite rate (77.8%) and admission rate (44.4%) is for a GMAT score of 750, with 7 out of 9 applicants being called to interview and 4 being selected for admissions
  • The highest number of applicants have GMAT scores 710 (26) and 720 (27) and hence we witness a relatively lower admission rate of around 30% for these scores.
  • The highest conversion rate (80%) is for a score of 730 with 4 out of 5 applicants securing admission at UC Berkeley
  • The admit rate drops significantly below a score of 710 with only 2 applicants with a score of 700 and 2 with a score of 690 getting an admission offer
  • No applicant below a score of 690 was admitted to UC Berkeley

From our observations, we can say that a score in the range of 710 to 750 is a good GMAT score for UC Berkeley.

Only 1 Indian applicant finally made it to UC Berkeley for the class of 2021 and the selection criteria seemed to be more influenced by other application parameters rather than the score. However, for the class of 2020, 2 Indian applicants were admitted- both having a GMAT score of 760.  Also, if we look at the scores of applicants invited for interviews in both the years, we can see that a high GMAT score plays quite an important role in the entire admission process.
