Observations

What is a good GMAT score for Dartmouth Tuck e-GMAT
  • The invite rate for applicants scoring above 720 is quite high. A majority of applicants with scores above 720 have received an interview invite from Dartmouth Tuck. The invite rate drops significantly at a score of 710.
  • The admit rate drops significantly for scores of 740 and below.
  • If we consider the admit rate, a range between 750 to 760 seems optimal with the admit rate being more than 33.33% for scores in this range.
  • It is worth noting that 10 out of 10 applicants with a score of 750 were called for interviews and 8 of them successfully secured admission to Dartmouth Tuck.
  • The number of interview invites drops drastically below a score of 700, also because the number of applicants with scores below 700 is low. Also, to get an admit to Tuck at scores below 700, the applicants must have an exceptional profile. This explains why the admit rate seems to be high for scores from 670-690.
  • No applicant below a score of 680 was admitted to Dartmouth Tuck.

As per the data above, a score in the range of 750 to 780 is a good GMAT score for Dartmouth Tuck with a high interview rate as well as the conversion rate for applicants with scores in this range.  

Looking at the data of optimal range for admit rate from 5 years ago, which was 730-770 with an admit rate of more than 50%, we can conclude that the optimal range has gone up, while the admit rate has come down. Thus, to increase the chances of getting an admit, the applicant must have both: An excellent GMAT score and a well rounded profile.

While many applicants in the range of 700 to 670 also received an interview invite, anyone with a score below 700 will have to work really hard on other parameters of the application process and be able to perform exceptionally well to be considered for a seat at Tuck.

From the data of applicants who updated their admission status on GMAT Club, a total of 31 candidates were waitlisted. Out of these, 2 candidates with scores 750 (2) and one candidate each with a score of 730 (1) and 700(1) were able to get off the waitlist and got the final admission letter from Tuck.
