Step-by-Step Solution

Watch this video in which Payal solves this question using the framework.

Summary

Let’s summarize the salient features of this question.

  1. Question
    • Conditions presented for gifting.
    • Tabulated information given about 4 friends and 5 book categories
  2. Our approach
    • Extracted the passage in our notes
    • Took examples to understand the table thoroughly
    • Executed the DS approach
  3. Observations
    • We did not refer to the passage once we understood the table thoroughly.
    • Even though the two statements provided different kinds of information – while statement 1 provided information about the topics, statement 2 provided information about the recipient – we were able to efficiently use the table to answer the question.

Now apply these learnings to these practice questions that are different versions of this official question.
