Test takers with disabilities can now leverage the world’s best GMAT mocks

Test takers with disabilities can now leverage the world’s best GMAT mocks
A 3 min read

SIGma-X mocks provide accurate score estimates and ESR+ analysis – two things that are only possible with in-center GMAT experience (the Online GMAT does not provide ESR). Today, we are pleased to announce that students with special needs will be able to leverage SIGma-X mocks to plan for and achieve their target GMAT score.

1.1  What is the ‘Additional Time’ Feature?

To ensure that the GMAT is fair for all exam takers, GMAC provides certain provisions for test-takers with disabilities – ranging from facilities in the testing environment to accommodations such as extra time for the GMAT.

To extend the same flexibility on our platform to people who have been officially granted extra time to complete the official GMAT exam we have added a feature on our Sigma-X mocks that allows us to set a time factor on the mocks on a per user basis.

Putting it simply, the extended time feature allows you more time to complete a Sigma-X mock only if you’re eligible and officially allowed by GMAC to get more time on the official GMAT exam.

1.2  Who is eligible for getting more time on the GMAT exam?

According to GMAC, you are eligible for additional testing time (50 percent or 100 percent more time) if you have significant difficulty in working under timed conditions and can provide evidence to that extent, then, you may request for additional testing time for your GMAT test appointment.

Some of the most common cited reasons by applicants include, but not limited to are:

  1. Attentional Disabilities (e.g. ADHD)
  2. Learning/Cognitive Disabilities (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia)
  3. Physical/Systemic Disabilities (e.g. cerebral palsy)
  4. Psychological Disabilities
  5. Sensory Disabilities (e.g. vision and hearing impairments)

Take a look at this article to know more about the accommodations made by GMAC for test-takers with disabilities and how to apply for these accommodations.

1.3  How to request the ‘additional time’ feature on Sigma-x mocks?

Simply write to our support team at support@e-gmat.com requesting this feature. Don’t forget to include an official approval copy from GMAC.

Your information will be kept confidential. We never download a copy of your documents, and we permanently delete them from our email inbox after our review.

1.4  How will your Mock screen look like once this feature is activated?

Once you start a Sigma-X mock you’ll see a message indicating additional time available prior to starting the mock. Note our SLA for this feature is 24 hours even though our turn around time in many cases would be less than that.

Once you start the mock, you’ll see additional time on the clock. At this point we have not changed the duration of the break, however, we do have the ability to accommodate for it.

We hope to enhance the mock taking experience of our students who are eligible for accommodation from GMAC with this new feature. Write to us at support@e-gmat.com in case you have any queries on this new feature.
