Vaibhav scored a 770 on GMAT using e-GMAT Verbal Online

Vaibhav Chugh

Hi Vaibhav. How does it feel to achieve a 770 on your first attempt?
Feels great. Although this is my first attempt, I have been preparing on and off for over 2 years.
Oh, is it? Can you tell us a bit more about your preparation?
Initially, my preparation was very random. I was going through the Official Guide and randomly browsing forum posts on GMAT Club. This continued on and off till mid 2015, when I realized that I need a more structured approach if I have to ace the GMAT. That’s when I joined e-GMAT Verbal Online.
How did you prepare using Verbal Online?
Initially, I just quickly completed the course and consequently, was stuck at a 710-720 on the mocks. However, after booking my exam date, I studied more seriously using the course and was able to see significant improvement in my ability.
How did e-GMAT help you with the GMAT Verbal section?
Before enrolling for the course, my accuracy in SC was somewhere close to 50-60% in 700+ level questions. I realized that this is not enough if I have to break the V40 barrier.

After studying using Verbal Online and consistently practicing the processes taught in the course, I could see a significant improvement in my verbal performace. Towards the end of my preparation, I was consistently scoring more than a V40 in each of the GMATPrep mocks.

e-GMAT’s Verbal Course is worth every dollar spent.

Glad the course helped you, Vaibhav. Any preparation related advice that you’d like to give to your fellow GMAT aspirants?
Do not wait until you are in a situation where you can study for multiple hours everyday for 2-3 months. It is okay even if you study only for one hour or less some days. Do not procrastinate.

Also, make sure to frame preparation strategy and follow a methodical process to solve questions in order to ace the GMAT

Bhagawat displays his magic with a 750 on the GMAT

Bhagawat Rawat

Hi Bhagawat. Congratulations on scoring a 750. How does it feel to achieve a dream score?
Amazing! I was pleasantly surprised with a 200+ point score improvement compared to my previous attempt. e-GMAT Verbal Live Prep course helped me jump from 630 (V28) to 750 (V41).
How was your experience of using the SC portion of the course?
The 3-step process for SC is a sure shot way to get questions correct. The most important point which i would like to mention is that you guys made the difficult terms made so easy to understand (no one in this world would teach using terms such as verb-ed modifiers, verb-ing modifiers, noun+noun modifiers etc). All the appositives, gerunds, reflexives and infinitives can take a toss in front of your methodology. With each session, my confidence grew and so did my accuracy.
Glad to hear that. How about CR?
Rajat’s CR sessions were superb and the concept of pre-thinking is absolutely a gold mine. The negation test and variance analysis actually helped me during my exam.
Were there any other aspects of the course that you’d like to mention?
Yes – the two amazing workshops which you conducted for the first time. I am GLAD you did that. They gave a real insight about my preparation trajectory and highlighted the areas I had to improve. I could get an accuracy of 88% on the OG12 SC section and 94% on the CR section.
What did you do differently this time that, according to you, played a crucial role in your tremendous score improvement?
I tracked my mistakes, analyzed every wrong choice as to why it was wrong, followed the 3-step process blindly, in short did everything you guys told me to do.
We’re quite glad the course helped you, Bhagawat. Is there anything else that you’d like to add for your fellow test takers?
People say it’s no magic to score well on GMAT and that you need to work very hard. I say, what e-GMAT does is pure MAGIC!
Thank you for your words of appreciation Bhagawat. It was nice speaking to you. We wish you the best for your future endeavors.
Thank you e-GMAT team.

Anupam Gupta

Hi Anupam. How are you doing?
I am good and quite happy, I must say. I am happy that I was able to crack the GMAT in my first attempt itself.
Can you tell us a bit more about your preparation?
I thought I would sail through the Verbal section of the GMAT as I was fairly comfortable with language in general. However, it took only a couple of mock CATs to cut me down to size. I realized I needed help in understanding some things and unlearning others.
How did you come across e-GMAT?
I came across e-GMAT on GMAT Club and attended a free webinar that Rajat hosts on Saturdays. I instantly connected with the way of teaching and hence decided to purchase the Verbal Online course.
What are your thoughts on the Verbal Online course?
The course is much more structured and comprehensive than any other course I have seen. It walks you through detailed instructions for every possible topic and the concept files are amazingly well organized. The topics are arranged in a fashion that makes it easy to assimilate. The practice provided in the course is brilliant and really makes you work on your concepts.
Glad to hear that the course helped you, Anupam. How did the SC portion of the course help you?
For SC, I think this is the best course there is. Before going through this course, I was a bit hesitant The concept files are exhaustive and I felt completely ready for SC after one pass through all files. SC became a strong point since the process really helped. The 3-step approach to SC is extremely helpful and makes the most challenging questions seem very easy.
How about the CR and RC portions of the course?
For CR, the pre-thinking approach demonstrated is brilliant. It really makes you take a good hard look at the argument before jumping to an answer, and I believe this is the only way to achieve both accuracy and speed in Verbal on the GMAT.
The reading strategies provided for RC are something that work together brilliantly and helped me get into the right frame of mind to decipher even the most complex passages.
How was the support provided by the team?
The team at e-GMAT is extremely helpful. I panicked a bit during the last few days and shot an email out to them. However, Rajat personally responded and helped me calm down a lot. The team is friendly and really invests in your preparation.
Would you like to add anything else?
I owe my Verbal score of 41 solely to e-GMAT. The process and structure really helped me improve my skills. The way the concepts are taught, I am sure I will carry this knowledge throughout my MBA as well. Thanks for a great product and service!
Prateek improved by 180 points and scored a 760 on the GMAT.

Prateek Batla

Hi Prateek. How did it feel after scoring a 760 on the GMAT?
It feels so good to score above your initial expectation. Hard work and consistency paid off.
This is your third attempt. Can you tell us what happened in your first attempt?
I first gave a mock to assess my level (Q49, V25). I was good in quant but I needed to improve verbal a lot. I struggled with a lot of books and was stuck at a 50% accuracy. Although I was enrolled for e-GMAT, I didn’t utilise it properly as I wasn’t very methodical in my preparation during this attempt. As a result I scored only a 580 in my first attempt.
What about your second and third attempts?
I started preparing more methodically using the course and following the study plan. My basics were in place during my second attempt and so I was able to score a 700. However, I wanted to score a 750+ and therefore, I practiced more questions using the approach taught in the course and eventually I was able to score 760 – improving to a V41.
What according to you were the key aspects that helped you in your preparation?
Key for me was my basics improved with this course, and then I did tons of practice with strong basics. I tried studying from other popular course guides, but for me it didn’t helped much.
What aspects of e-GMAT helped you?
Best thing about this e-gmat course for me is it is really interesting and keeps you hooked through visualization and short animated lectures, with tons of practice before and after the lecture. The written e-gmat articles are even more helpful. I just liked everything about this course, including the verbal workshops that I got to attend, integrated reasoning course that came free with this and the GMAT Club membership that I got..
How was the support provided to you?
The support team is very responsive and e-GMAT also provided strategy support to students when they need it. For example, after my first attempt, I reached out to e-GMAT seeking guidance. I received a spread sheet in return seeking my scores in their course quizzes, if I completed my full exercises per the study plan, and most importantly if I am applying the three step process they are teaching. This process acted as a real eye opener and I was able to focus on the key areas required to improve and reach my target score.
That’s wonderful to hear, Prateek. Anything else that you’d like to add?
e-GMAT Verbal Online is surely one of the best courses out there. Thank you Team e-GMAT.
Thank you for your appreciation, Prateek. Wish you the best for your future endeavors.
Rohit scores a GMAT 730!

Rohit Nair

Hi Rohit. How was your experience using the SC portion of the course?
After finishing just 2 levels of SC course, my verbal score jumped by around 5 points and the number of SC mistakes per mock test dropped from 8 per test to less than 4 per test.
That’s great! How about CR and RC portions?
The CR course really helped get my thought process right and fixed my CR basics problem. The data provided helped me understand that I made 70% of my mistakes in the Weaken and Inference CR questions. This helped me focus on these particular modules to improve my score further.
The RC module was excellent too. The reading strategies helped me decipher complex passages easily.
What other aspects of the course did you like?
I would like to comment on the IR course as well. Not many people focus on IR, but I found that the Integrated Reasoning section of e-GMAT is extremely detailed and covers a large number of problems of varied types. This helped me a lot.
Glad that the course helped you, Rohit. Would you like to add anything else for your fellow test takers?
In less than 4 days, I noticed a considerable improvement in my accuracy while attempting the OG questions. Overall, I would highly recommend the e-GMAT course to EVERY non-native. It’s a wonderful investment for an excellent verbal score.
Thank you Rohit. Wish you all the very best for your future endeavors.
Thank you Team e-GMAT.
