In this case, the meaning of the word attest is \u201cto provide or serve as clear evidence of.\u201d&nbsp; Thus, the author is communicating here that these balls and representations painted on the ceramics serve as evidence that the ball games existed by the thirteenth century. Now, we need to take another look and make sure that no errors impede the communication of this meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"7-332-grammar-test\">3.3.2 Grammar Test<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I always start with my subject-verb pairs and verb tenses because these are the critical building blocks of the sentence. The two subjects, \u201cballs and representations,\u201d take the plural verb \u201cattest.\u201d. The present tense verb works because the artifacts currently provide evidence and will for all time. The two subjects are properly parallel and joined by \u201cand,\u201d and there are no other errors in the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"8-333-test-results\">3.3.3 Test Results<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>So, our litmus test is complete, and we have no reason to reject the original sentence. So, can we confidently select option A and move on to the next question?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No, always make sure to go through each answer choice and reject them on solid ground. Every option except the original sentence has a subject-verb agreement error, so if we check those basic building blocks of the sentence, it is easy to eliminate options based on such errors quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"10-5-most-popular-incorrect-answer-choice-option-e\">5. Most popular Incorrect Answer Choice-Option E<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The second most popular answer choice for this question is option E. Why? If you chose this option, you probably could not embrace the fact that balls and representations painted on ceramics could \u201cattest\u201d to anything, but we have to ask, is it \u201cthe finding\u201d that serves as the evidence? Or is it the balls and representations? The finding does not attest to anything- it is what was found that does.
