Take a look at his story.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from carrying a passport to the test center, you require a valid ID proof while registering for the GRE exam. The same ID you need to carry to the test center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you bring an invalid ID to the test center. For instance,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will not be eligible for the GRE if the first and last name on your ID doesn\u2019t match with the name on your GRE application. Any supplemental ID will not be a valid ID proof and hence won\u2019t resolve any discrepancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ID requirements depend on the country to which you belong and the one where you plan to test. Eligible criteria are set by the colleges you wish to apply for, through GRE. All grad schools require one to have a bachelor\u2019s degree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They may also set a restriction on GPAs as per the kind of applications they receive. For eg., <a href=\"https:\/\/e-gmat.com\/blogs\/ivy-league-schools\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ivy League Schools<\/a> have students with an average GPA of 3.71 on a 4.0 scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"7-criteria-4-gap-year-after-undergraduate-degree\">Criteria 4 &#8211; Gap year after Undergraduate degree<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"8-%E2%80%9C-i-finished-my-undergraduate-degree-two-years-ago-but-didn%E2%80%99t-do-a-job-after-that-i-spent-the-time-to-prepare-for-gre-and-other-entrance-exams-for-masters-%E2%80%9D\">\u201c<em>I finished my undergraduate degree two years ago. But didn\u2019t do a job after that. I spent the time to prepare for GRE and other entrance exams for Masters.<\/em>\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The gap years won\u2019t affect your GRE eligibility. For some, they might be an advantage, giving them a buffer to prepare well for grad schools and work on their application. These years might also hamper the admission prospects if one is unable to justify them appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"9-criteria-5-gre-attempts-\">Criteria 5 &#8211; GRE Attempts <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"10-%E2%80%9C-i-attempted-gre-five-times-this-year-now-i%E2%80%99m-unable-to-book-the-next-gre-test-date-%E2%80%9D\">\u201c<em>I attempted GRE five times this year. Now I\u2019m unable to book the next GRE test date.<\/em>\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>One can attempt the GRE 5 times in a rolling year. The minimum gap between consecutive attempts should be at least 21 days. So, if one attempts GRE 5 times in a year, the next exam date will be after the end of the current year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"11-criteria-6-for-physically-handicapped-\">Criteria 6 &#8211; For Physically handicapped <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"12-%E2%80%9C-i-suffer-from-low-visual-acuity-%E2%80%9D\">\u201c<em>I suffer from low visual acuity.<\/em>\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can certainly apply for accommodations if you suffer from health-related issues or if you have any physical disability. This won&#8217;t make you ineligible for the GRE. You can apply through the ETS account, email, mail, or through courier services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You need to fill the form provided in this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/s\/gre\/pdf\/bulletin_supplement_test_takers_with_disabilities_health_needs_20_21.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">bulletin<\/a> and share it with ETS using the above-mentioned means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"13-criteria-7-nationality-\">Criteria 7 &#8211; Nationality <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"14-%E2%80%9C-i-am-an-iranian-national-and-the-testing-centers-are-not-operational-in-iran-due-to-pandemic-%E2%80%9D\">\u201c<em>I am an Iranian national and the testing centers are not operational in Iran due to pandemic.<\/em>\u201d<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To help students in the pandemic situation, ETS has launched GRE &#8216;at-home&#8217; option. However, this option is not available in Mainland China and Iran. Hence, the students from these 2 regions need to wait for the testing centers to get reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"505\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.e-gmat.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Nationality-as-a-criteria-for-GRE.png\" alt=\"Nationality criteria for GRE eligibility\" class=\"wp-image-30147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/e-gmat.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Nationality-as-a-criteria-for-GRE.png 750w, https:\/\/e-gmat.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Nationality-as-a-criteria-for-GRE-300x202.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, no nationalities are kept outside of GRE eligibility.
