We learned that adjectives<\/a> are used to describe another noun or pronoun. Adjectives can also be used to present comparison.  And when adjectives are used in that role, they should be used in the appropriate comparative or superlative forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When comparison between 2 entities is made, comparative form of adjective<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comparative Form<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This form should be used when adjective is used to compare 2 entities.  It can be formed in two ways.  We can add either \u201cer\u201d to the end of the adjective or \u201cmore\u201d or \u201cless\u201d before it. Remember that we cannot do both<\/span> together.  For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Jacob has a bigger<\/strong> villa than Jack.<\/li>
  2. I prefer my crepes thinner<\/strong>.<\/li>
  3. My cat is certainly lazier<\/strong> than my dog.<\/li>
  4. The salary in corporate offices is more handsome<\/strong>.<\/li>
  5. Some flowers are more colorful<\/strong> than others even if they belong to the same family.<\/li>
  6. Religious scripture always teach the commoners to be more compassionate<\/strong> towards every living being.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Superlative Adjectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    This form should be used when adjective is used to compare more than 2 entities.  Like comparative adjectives, superlative adjectives can be formed in two ways. We can add either \u201cest\u201d to the end of the adjective or \u201cmost\u201d or \u201cleast\u201d before it. Remember that we cannot do both<\/span> together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Jason has the biggest <\/strong>villa in this block.<\/li>
    2. Gina\u2019s is the thickest<\/strong> exercise book is the class.<\/li>
    3. Kim selected the crispiest<\/strong> bacons for her breakfast.<\/li>
    4. For Jason, his grandmother is the most gorgeous<\/strong> woman in the world.<\/li>
    5. This is the most colorful<\/strong> rainbow I have even seen.<\/li>
    6. The stories that Harry tells are least believable<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      So always be sure to use adjectives in their correct form.\u00a0 Use comparative form of adjective when you compare 2 entities.\u00a0 Prepare the comparative form appropriately.\u00a0 Likewise use superlative form of adjective when you compare more than 2 entities.\u00a0 Prepare the superlative form appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
