Built for eLearning: Whereas e-GMAT courses are built to be delivered as eLearning courses, most other online courses on the market are repurposed recordings of the online classroom courses. Since these repurposed courses were not originally designed to be delivered as eLearning courses, they are not built on eLearning pedagogical practices and may not deliver the promised benefits.

e-GMAT courses are designed by keeping the following key practices in mind.

Focus on Accuracy:
At e-GMAT, we believe that excellence on the GMAT is achieved by first mastering the concepts that are tested on the GMAT, and then by applying these concepts to answer questions in a systematic manner. Our research has shown that doing both (concepts and process) in conjunction leads to high accuracy levels (80%+) for most people. On the other hand, if only one of these two is mastered, then the resultant score improvement is much less (see the chart).

It is this approach that differentiates e-GMAT from other courses. That is, while most courses focus the majority of their time on explaining the concepts, e-GMAT courses lay equal emphasis on teaching the concepts and teaching the process of applying the concepts. For example, e-GMAT Sentence Correction course contains 30 concept files that explain the various error concepts and 9 application files that teach how to apply the concepts that the student has learned. Hence, it is no surprise to us that students who effectively use the e-GMAT course reach accuracy levels up to 90 percent. Also, most students, even those who take up e-GMAT after going through $1000+ classroom courses, report much higher scores after completing our course.

Why does this work: A consistent process combined with absolute clarity of concepts is the reason why e-GMAT students report higher accuracy and improved timing. Dr. Judy Willis, neurologist and classroom teacher and author of 6 books on mind brain and educational research, has proven that as we practice more and more with a consistent process, our brain circuits become more and more efficient and are easier to access and activate. In her own words:

"Like hikers eventually carving out a depression along a trail, repeated practice stimulates cells in the memory circuit such that the circuit is reinforced and becomes stronger. This means it can be quickly turned on, and switched on through a variety of sensory cues". - Dr. Judy Willis

Improved Retention through In-Place learning:
Every e-GMAT concept and application file contains a post assessment quiz at the end; this in-place testing leads to two (2) benefits. Firstly, it increases your retention. Our research has shown that most people retain majority of the content even a few weeks after taking the concept. Secondly, it provides you instant feedback on areas that you need to revise. Overall, this means that you learn more effectively and retain more of what you have learned. Most other eLearning courses, especially those based on repurposed online lectures, do not integrate in-place testing.

Furthermore, our files are super easy to navigate, so once you know what to revise, you can get to it right away.

Our concepts are usually 20 minutes or less. Research has shown that 'working memory' or 'short-term memory' holds data for about 20 minutes. However, since we test the concepts in the post assessment quizzes, most of the new information is transferred to the long term memory and can be reproduced later.

Here's what one of our customers had to say:
"There is a pre-assessment quiz and a post-assessment quiz for every concept and it really helped me to see what mistakes I was making and whether I understood the concept well enough to not repeat the mistakes in future." - Rahul Lakhmani (GMAT Score - 720)

Learn to Walk before you Run:
At e-GMAT we make sure that you prove a good understanding of the basics before you attempt more difficult problems. To ensure the same, our courses are divided into levels that unlock only after you prove your proficiency through the diagnostic or the Level qualifying exercises. This allows learners who understand the basics to approach advanced questions immediately and ensures that those who do not comprehend the basics spend their time efficiently by learning the same.

Learn 5X more effectively:
When we see & hear at the same time, we retain 5 times as much as we do when we only read. e-GMAT courses with the visually engaging presentations and synchronized audio narrations ensure that you are completely focused so that you learn more effectively and retain more. Each concept has the same consistent structure so that your brain can put new information in context and use it more effectively as you do more concepts. Because the course enables your brain to focus on the content, our customers have reported using the course in ways that we had not imagined before:

"Matter of fact, presently in my lunch break I am going through the e-gmat course. I found it very useful. It helps your thought process while working on SCs, especially for non-native speakers, such as me." - Praveen Matta
